Running Away with the Circus (or my first Arts and Crafts Street Fair)

Okay, okay, so it was an Arts and Crafts Fair not a circus. But I really wanted a clever title for this post.

So this year I promised myself that I would do something creative and crafty. I had the idea to make beer bottle candles after we had leftover wax from my teacup candle party favors for our wedding in October. For Christmas Kevin even gave me a bottle cutter! Now, I am truly not the craftiest person out there, but since I had to DIY for the wedding, I’ve come to enjoy the challenge of making something out of something else or just making something else all together. In February I decided to sign up for an Arts and Crafts Street Fair here in Evanston. I paid for the booth spot up front, because I knew if I wasn’t tied to it financially I would never do it. I also invited some friends along to share the booth space with me. Chris of Myth and Arrow (his Facebook) and Stephanie of Franny Pax (her Facebook).

Prepping for an Art Fair

HIYA guys!

I’ve been crazy busy prepping for an Arts and Crafts that’s coming up THIS weekend. I am super excited as this is a new venture for me and I have never been involved in anything like this before. I had to get really crafty for my wedding in October with alot of DIY and I thought it’d be fun to carry that energy over and release some creativity by participating in an Art Fair.

I am making scented candles from upcycled beer bottles! I cut and sanded down each bottle by myself and then add melted scented wax and wicks to make them into candles! I’m also going to have teacup candles and specialty candles from wine, whiskey, etc. bottles.

Re-configuring our 1 Bedroom Apartment (and life)

Hi guys! Sorry I missed last week’s post. I’ve been working on a few different things coming up for next month and have been a little busy.

So Kevin and I came to realize that moving to a bigger place was NOT going to happen this year. And yea, I’m a bit bummed out about it. We could of moved to a couple bigger places but we truly couldn’t justify going way beyond our set budget just for a slightly bigger space. After putting on my thinking cap, I started to try to visualize how we can maximize and make our current place work for us in the way we need it. Above is a picture of our living room. We have a lot of light that comes in but it makes it really hard to take pictures, sorry. So our goal is to make the TV and movies have a better flow and look like one aspect as opposed to different pockets like we have now.
