Summer Food: Buffalo Chicken Pizza (Flatbread)

Hello beautiful people!
Summer time on my mind, and to me summer is having great food, awesome beer, and surrounded by amazing people. Last week I shared my Summer Bucket List with you guys, good food is just an overall goal, but especially in summer. Summer food is the best, isn’t it? Cook outs and get togethers. Tasty grub and cold beer always seem to bring folks together. With that thought in mind, we have been making some deliciousness at home. 

A couple weeks ago we tried something different on the fly and boy was it yum! A buffalo chicken pizza! Now, I honestly don’t know what the difference between a pizza and a flatbread is. Is it the crust base? Is it the shape? I’m not 100% sure but when it popped in my head I called it pizza so this is what it will be known as in our home (for when we make it again).

Buffalo Chicken Pizza Flatbread

  • Servings: 2-3

Ingredients

16oz Pizza Dough (Ready to Bake) 8oz Fresh Mozzarella 1/2 cup Buffalo Wing Sauce 1/4 medium Red Onion 1 cup Diced Cooked Chicken

Directions

1. Preheat over for 450. While oven is heating up, dice up chicken, slice red onion, and slice mozzarella.

2. Spray or oil pan. Stretch and roll out pizza dough according to package. I am not that great at rolling out dough….some parts where thicker and others real thin but i tried my best…

3. Spread buffalo wing sauce evenly on dough. Sprinkle diced chicken and onion to your liking. Top with mozzarella slices.

4. Bake in over for 20 minutes OR until crust is golden brown. I’m not sure if it was because I rolled out my dough weird or because our oven sucks but it took about 35 minutes for us….. Let cool for 5-8 minutes before slicing.

Pizzas are super easy!
Throwing ingredients on while oven preheats then let the oven do the work! Plus buffalo chicken makes me think of summer 😉

I know it does suck to turn on the oven in the summer but if you have a pizza oven or make pizza on the grill, this combo is a winner! If your not into that it’s a great recipe for those cool summer nights or an appetizer for a gathering.

Whatever the occasion, casual or social, it’s a good one to have on hand!
