Homemade Dog Birthday Cake; bonus doggie beer and ice cream

Hello Hello!
I didn’t do my usual blog post yesterday and for a good reason too.

It was my dog’s birthday!!!

Lafayette turned 4 (time flies), yes, she is adopted. And no, we don’t know exactly when she was born but we have a rough idea. Everyone deserves a birthday, and with the little information we could gather, we picked one for her! We celebrate her birthday every year, and eventually when we have a house with a yard, she’ll have a full on birthday bash!

Until then we will keep making her a dog friendly birthday cake!

Ingredients:

1 cup Whole Wheat Flour
1 teaspoon Baking Soda
1/2 cup shredded Apple
1/2 cup shredded Carrot
1/4 cup Natural Peanut Butter
1/3 cup Honey
1/4 cup Vegetable Oil
1 Egg

We also have this bone shaped silicone cake pan especially for her šŸ˜‰
But you can use any cake pan approximately 7×10.

Pre-heat oven at 350 degrees F.
Use an additional 1/2 tablespoon of vegetable oil to grease up the cake pan. The bottom first and then about an inch up the sides, all around.

In a large bowl mix flour and baking soda, shred carrot and apple (1/2 cup each). Add all other ingredients to bowl.

Mix ingredients thoroughly.Ā Spread into cake pan, it’s not a deep cake, so don’t worry.

Bake for 30 minutes, set on cooling rack for 10 minutes.

This is more like a bread, if I am being honest but it’s pretty good. Both Kevin and I eat it!

I cover the top with a thin layer of natural peanut butter and a drizzle of honey. Yum!
Pair it with dog ice cream (NOT for humans) and dog beer, for a full on feast for your pup!

**BONUS**

Easy Dog Beer

Just 2 ingredients, chicken (or beef) broth and water! 1/3 broth to 2/3 water is the ratio we use. Don’t have any broth? Use a little chicken or beefĀ bouillon and mix with water!

Celebrate the little furry loves of your life! Whether you know it or not, they are leaving little paw prints on your heart ā¤

How do you celebrate your pet’s special day?

Love,
B
