Day Trip to Milwaukee, WI

Hi guys! If you haven’t voted yet, today is your last chance!
Enough politics 🙂
You guys remember how last month Kevin got me tickets to see my favorite female comedian?! Well that lead to a mini day trip to Milwaukee, WI!
We arrived at about 3pm so it wasn’t a full day to get lost in Wisconsin but since the show wasn’t until 8, we had some time to kill. At the suggestion of a friend we decided to explore the Historic Third Ward.

It was so fun exploring a new place, even if it was just for a few hours! It was so easy to get lost in all the litlle shops and drinking some local brews.
We just wandered around a bit and went into any place we found interesting (that was open). We had to hit up the Public Market.

There where some cute little shops we found. Broadway Paper that had amazing gift wrap, cards, stationary, and gifty things! There was also Hot Pop which had fun quirky cartoon-y selection of products as well as an art gallery!

We had dinner and Wisconsin beers at Cafe Benelux, where I chowed on mussels and frites with garlic aioli (I could’ve ate those fries and aioli forever) with a Lakefront Fixed Gear beer and Kevin had a burger with sweet potato fries with a New Glarus beer.
Yummy Yummy!

We had more beers (why not!) at the Milwaukee Ale House, where I fell in love with their Booyah and Kevin their Pull Chain. Plus live music!!

Couldn’t leave without taking a stroll on the Riverwalk (Ale House in the background).

After exploring, dinner, and a stroll we headed off to the show! I laughed so hard I cried a few times. If you haven’t seen any of Iliza Shlesinger‘s Netflix specials you should dig in, especially if you are a lady. Girl speaks the thruth and it is hilarious!!

I tried to sneak a few pics of the show in the theater….

(Sorry Iliza)

And here’s a couple of random pics! Sometimes it’s hard to get good selfies of Kevin and me because I forget he’s a FOOT taller than me, haha.

It was just a small trip, if you ever find yourself in Milwaukee the Historic Third Ward is definitely a place I recommend you check out! It was kinda of unplanned and random, we just let the small amount of time there take us and tried to relax and just let loose for a bit.

Any fun mini trips you’ve taken? Share recommendations that are a short day trip away! I’d love to hear from ya!

Love,
B
